Country Center for Health & Rehabilitation Achieves 80% Vaccination Rate among Employees and 90% Vaccination Rate among Residents
With enthusiastic support, employees and residents at Country Center for Health and Rehabilitation, an affiliate of National Health Care Associates (NHCA), received their first dose of the Pfizer-BioTech COVID-19 vaccine. Over 81% of employees and 93% of residents received the lifesaving vaccination at the Center’s first clinic.
The successful rollout marks a monumental milestone in defeating the novel coronavirus that has had a sizeable impact on the nursing home industry.
“Our teams have a profound understanding of the true burden of COVID-19,” said Jennifer Pelletier, administrator at Country Center for Health and Rehabilitation. “The lightened mood and smiles in our employees and residents after being vaccinated inspire confidence in a brighter tomorrow and renewed optimism in the end to this pandemic.”
“We are thrilled by the positive response to the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Marvin Ostreicher, president of NHCA, who led employees on Dec. 21 in being among the first to receive the vaccine at the Center’s sister facility, Hebrew Center for Health & Rehabilitation. “Our employees’ eagerness to be immunized attests to their unwavering commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment for our residents and families.”
Country Center for Health and Rehabilitation partnered with CVS Pharmacy to distribute and administer the vaccine. This event was the first in a two-dose series to achieving immunity.
While inoculation from the virus provides an essential layer of protection, employees at the Center continue to reinforce adherence to safety measures and infection control protocols.
